The red number is the note
that you should use as your guide when playing the lick in other
keys. In this case the note is an F#. If you wanted to play this
lick in A, you would just move everything up 3 frets so that the
number in red would be at the 5th fret on the first string (A).
The first note on the 4th string is also an F# note, so this could
also be used as a guide.
