And welcome to another "Guitar Tips for Kids" feature Guitar lesson...
My name is "Dario Patrono" creator of "Guitar Tips For Kids" and today I will be teaching you all about the "A Major Scale" & the secrets it holds.
Did you know? There are 5 Major & 5 Minor Guitar Scales that you can learn (A, C, D, E, G). And there are 2 versions of each scale: 1. Pentatonic & 2. Diatonic.
Pentatonic are the real easy ones and diatonic have a few more extra notes added on.
So let's get down to business, grab your Guitar & let's learn how to play the easy A Major Pentatonic Guitar Scale.
Step: 1 - The A Major Chord . . . |

Every Guitar Scale comes from a Guitar Chord. Therefore we need to refresh ourselves with the A Major Chord first...

COOL Bananas!! Now that we remember how to hold the A Major Chord we can now find it within our A Major Guitar Scale.

Step: 2 - The A Major Guitar Scale . . . |

Here's A Handy Scale Hint: When playing a Guitar Scale, don't play it like a chord - simply play it one note at a time from the top 6th string down to the bottom 1st string.

Did you notice a BIG red letter "R" on the open 5th string? That note is called a "root note" & is very important when dealing with lead Guitar work. They hold one of the key secrets to pulling off insane Guitar solos. |
